International Trade in Tampa Bay, Panel Discussion

Have you heard the buzz about international trade alliances in Tampa Bay? It’s a hot trend for our area!

In 2014, Hillsborough and Pinellas county officials announced the formation of the Tampa Bay Export Alliance to lead international trade missions. The panel will provide insight into how our region is working to open more international markets for exporting and attracting foreign businesses to US soil. Alliances have already been forged with Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Panama and Switzerland. Selling more goods and services internationally would be a huge benefit to the Tampa Bay area and its economy.

In December, there was a joint Hillsborough – Pinellas trade mission to Chile and more are set to be planned for the upcoming year.

On Thursday, February 19, 2015, an “International Trade in Tampa Bay” expert panel discussion will be hosted by the Bay Area Manufacturer’s Association (BAMA) at 5:30 PM at the Holiday Inn in Clearwater.

The panelists will include:

  • Sandra Campbell, Director, Tampa Bay Export Assistance Center, U.S. Department of Commerce

  • Lorrie Belovich, Director, International Business Development, Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development
